Brenda M. Illing, 60, passed away on February 19, 2017 at home in Bellaire, TX.  She was born on September 13, 1956 in Houston, TX  to James and Alice Craven.

Brenda grew up in the Houston area. She attended schools in and surrounding HISD and completed her GED, Nursing Training, and studied Floral Design in early adulthood.

Brenda married Jerry Illing in 1994 in Bellaire, TX. They were happily married for almost 23 years and enjoyed being together for some 30 years.

Brenda was a member of Braeswood Assembly of God Church, The Bellaire Club, and FOB.

Brenda enjoyed arts and crafts, floral work, and spoiling her many grandchildren. Brenda also taught Arts and Crafts locally for the less privileged.

Brenda is survived by her spouse, Jerry Illing, of Bellaire, TX; his daughter Sheila (Smith), Grandchildren, Tammy & Roger (Smith) and great grandson, Riley (Smith); her Sister Debbie Lauer, (Merv) of Katy, TX;  and her three daughters, Brenya Heye, of Houston, TX,  Rebecca Villarreal (Dax) of Austin, TX. and April DeRosier of Longmont, CO; her grandchildren, Hyland, Donovan, Nathaniel, and Katherine.  Brenya’s children; and nieces and nephews from James & Debbie’s children and other relatives. Brenda was “Nana Bren Bren” to Sarah Dickens and her brothers, sisters, and parents of Savannah, GA.

Brenda was preceded in death by her Mother, Alice Desaulniers; Father, James Craven; Sister Allison Craven; and Brother Larry Craven.

A brief viewing for immediate family and close friends will be held at Distinctive Life Cremations & Funerals, 5455 Dashwood #700 in Bellaire, TX at 11:00AM on Friday March 3rd.

Graveside services for family and friends will be held at Forest Park – Lawndale Cemetery; at 6900 Lawndale St. Houston on Friday March 3rd at 1:00 PM.

A memorial in honor of Brenda will be held Saturday March 4th following the noon meeting at 1:30 PM at the Bellaire Club; 5625-A Beechnut St., Houston.
