Surrounded by a heavenly host of angels, Shirley Jean Jackson entered into the loving arms of our Lord and savior, Jesus Christ on April 30, 2017 at the age of 81.

Shirley was born June 10, 1935 in in Big Spring, Texas to Clifford and Lois Robinson. She grew up in Lubbock, Texas and married her high school sweetheart, Donald Edward Jackson.

Shirley worked in retail for most of her career and worked beside her husband Donald in their shoe store for many years. She was an avid reader and loved to keep up with current events. She was a talented pianist, enjoyed bridge and working crossword puzzles, and kept her mind sharp.

Shirley had an abiding faith in God and always looked for the good in people. She demonstrated her kindness to family, friends and strangers in so many ways.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, son Drew Jackson, beloved husband Donald Jackson and brother Doug Robinson. She is survived by two sons Rick Jackson of Lubbock and Mark Jackson and his wife Shawnea’ of McKinney, Texas and three grandchildren – Kendra Jackson Schneider of Lubbock, Hayden Jackson of Dallas, Texas and Hunter Jackson of Los Angeles, California and great grandson Jackson Schneider of Lubbock.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, May 4th at 1:00 PM at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas 75211 with nephew Todd Robinson officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Fisher House Foundation. Fisher Houses provide military families housing close to a loved one during hospitalization for an illness, disease or injury.
